At this year’s Symposium, the
keynote speaker will be Marcin Opałło, He is professor and director of the
Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
At present his research group
“Modified electrodes for potential application in sensors and cells”
is mainly focused on electrochemical behaviour of suspended nanoobjects and
reactions at liquid-liquid interfaces. Nanoparticles suspensions are studied in
forced convection conditions: at rotating disc electrode and in flow. For their
detection electrocatalytic, electrodissolution and redox reactions are
employed. Studies of liquid-liquid interface are focused on oxygen reduction
reaction (ORR) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). New methods of
determination of efficiency of there reactions, mainly based Scanning
Electrochemical Microscopy were developed.
Marcin Opallo research was
published in more than 170 articles
cited 3800 times.
Professor will deliver a lecture
entitled: “ORR and HER at liquid-liquid interface”
